I owe this one to my dear wife, Jenny…She believes ‘…if a situation knocks you flat on your tummy…crawl, and keep moving…its the only way up to your feet’ It was Winston Churchill who said, ‘if you are going through hell, keep going’. I agree. The only way out is- keep moving.
The cards we are dealt with in life are not always fair… hurts of broken relationships, pain of losing a loved one, a job, business deals gone sour, the list is long…However, none of these should stop anyone from knocking on new doors and doing new things…and see how your ability to move on can lead you to new horizons and beautiful paths… ‘The most important things in the world were accomplished by those who kept on trying even when there seemed to be no hope’ Dale Carnegie. Most firsts have been pulled by men (Barrack Obamas) and women (Wangare Mathais) who kept moving on their course against all odds.
‘Victory I always possible for the person who refuses to STOP fighting’ Napoleon Hill Failure simply means you are off course, you succeed) by adjusting your sails as you move until you get the perfect bearing…but you got to keep moving. Stagnation can make worse of a good situation whereas deliberate well calculated continuous moves could make the best from the worst of a situation. It is said that an aircraft is off course 95% of the time, what the pilot does to get you to your destination is to keep adjusting course AS THEY FLY until they succeed more than 95% of the time, in getting you to your destination. We run out of chances when we stop taking them.
It’s not enough to be on the right track, if you just sit there, you’ll get run over. It’s okay to slow down and figure out the next move, but don’t stop. Successful people make mistakes, but they keep moving and never quitting. Success and motion have a close relationship. As Albert Einstein, the physics Nobel laureate would put it ‘…life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving’ Tie your life to a goal, ignore the destructors and constantly keep pulling yourself towards it.
Look for new skills, new insights, new ideas, read a great book in an all new-to-you subject…keep growing, keep going and developing yourself. Movement is a vital sign of life. Progress is the way to maintain, enhance and rejuvenate your life. It’s the continuous flow of water that makes a fresh water lake and gives it the ability to sustain aquatic life. A stationery car depreciates in value and its battery power goes down. It’s expensive in parking fees and the possibility of stolen headlights and side mirrors (especially if you are a Nairobian)… Advance towards excellence (professionally, personally & spiritually) or you end up in obsolescence
‘Life goes on’ regardless, so should you… ‘KEEP MOVING’ regardless! Start from where you are and steadily move to where you want. And, in the words of Dennis green remember ‘the secret of success is to start from scratch and…KEEP SCRATCHING!
