I received this letter from Nick and realised we all suffer from this condition at varied degrees. With his permission, lets share from this predicament.
Dear life doc.
Excuse my language, am not a medic, but I have this malady, one that won’t go away. It’s ripping the life out of me. I have these patterns which are disrupting and blocking my life. I call it what it is…Energy leaks complex. In case you don’t understand, then I hope you can stand some explanation.
On a positive note, I have heeded your advice on, praying, reading the right books (the bible first as you always say), listening to the right speakers, keeping the right company and having someone I can confide in. All these seem to work, but the problem is, after I have read and/or listened to the kind of stuff that fills me with positive energy, the kind that leaves me feeling like I can leap over mountains and achieve every dream I ever had, in a short while, the energy dissipates, wades, fades and like pressure from a slow puncture, it slowly leaks…leaving me flat and immobilized
Since you are a man who believes in pictures, let me try one shot of my situation. I read this very inspiring book with bits and pieces to help improve the quality of my life. I passionately devour the pages. Each filling me with power; raising me to a higher positive energy level…Making me feel like I face any Goliath. But this energy lasts for as long as am reading the book, after the last page…I fall back to my ‘ground state’. Two weeks later, I can’t even remember 10% of what I learnt. Do you get the picture?
Help, Nick.

Hey Nick
So you call me a life doctor? Ah!
The things you do when you are not reading or listening to inspirations can rob you the energy acquired, but most importantly, what you do during those inspired (high) moments sets people-who’ve read/listened to the same material-apart.. Research shows that new habits are created in at least 21 days. So take at least that long (before picking on another book or audio) and put words to works. Perspiration should follow inspiration. That’s the way to let the words become flesh and indwell you. The inspiration then becomes part of your operating systems and cannot therefore easily ‘leak out’.
Some authors give exercises on their books. However absurd or simple they may seem, try them, and also put down key points. This will help increase your memory retention.
No more procrastination. Don’t wait. Do it while you are still motivated. That’s the best state to react to the information you’ve learned. Start experimenting with small things the stuff learned then build momentum, improving at every stage. The results will act as motivators to act again and get more results creating a chain reaction of …‘Motivation – Action – Results – (which) – Motivate – (you to take) -Action …’ Use the energy to take action and start this chain reaction!
From your house to the office desk; (a) Avoid clutter. Disorder de-motivates; (b) Heed the music you listen to. Some lines stick and can keep repeating in your mind the whole day, if it wasn’t uplifting, then it robs you of energy and leaves you ‘a flat tyre’…Can’t move fast, can’t go far…Insulate yourself from such and keep the positive energy in to build the life you want and deserve.
