Life, we all agree is, metaphorically speaking…a race. (Not a rat race though, but a race) And as any seasoned athlete will agree, in any race, setbacks are not lacking. From deliberately flouted rules to those broken with no intention of doing so. Sometimes you fall, other times you sprain an ankle, and even worse, when you have to bare the consequences of some else’s error….like a linesman’s inaccuracy or a competitor who pushes you off the track.
… The true athletic spirit is finishing the race!
The greatest book of all time, (The bible of course) says we are in a race and we are only crowned upon finishing. The truth is, sometimes in this race, we tumble and crumble, but the attitude should be…rise up, dust off and most importantly – STAY ON! …that’s how to win in the game of life
…Before the dust settles (on you), be up or get run over and…really dusty!
Away with metaphors. I don’t intent to sound like a prophet, but ‘as long as you have breath, you are going to face setbacks, then…. more will follow. Some petite, others really challenging. A few created by you, the rest created for you…but those who win have the attitude…..‘Going down’, doesn’t mean ‘going out’…setbacks are not reasons to sit back…Get back and push forward’
…when you see me down…don’t count me out… I’ll get back up again!
Call it a law or a principle…but there is a way that those who continue to fight, when quitting would have been the most sensible thing to do…end up winning. It’s like the universe conspires to help the most beaten who won’t quit!
…I will not resign to this situation; I will carry on my assignment!
Winning is what we are here for, whining over our setbacks never gets anything done. Any other result, other than what we have envisioned, simply means we are not done yet. ‘Derailed’ simply means ‘delayed’, not ‘defeated’. Resist the urge to exit and……fight!

Despite who or what made us fall, we all, at some point in life, find ourselves in the one place – down. But there is a lifeline. After falling seven times, God is ready to raise us up the eighth time… We can never out number the times God is willing to hold us up every time we fall.
